JWS Construction is owned and operated by John Smitherman, and is based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  John is a fully qualified Red Seal Journeyman Bricklayer, authorized to work anywhere in the world.

JWS Construction is a member of the BBB, Licensed and WCB Insured.

John has over 28 years experience in all facets of construction and specializes in all types of  brick, block and stone work.  John began his profession (which is better described as his passion) in England where he was trained by some of the world’s best brick and stone specialists.

John has worked on a wide range of projects in his career. From massive budget projects, such as the English/French channel tunnel and the M25 highway on the world’s largest round-about, to small residential jobs for home owners needing repairs or alterations. Including building foundations, homes, pathways, fences, patios, driveways, chimneys, excavations, retaining walls, bridges, and roads.
